D'APRES VLADIMIR VASLILIEVICH LEBEDEV (1891-1957) [STENCIL OF A MAN.] 12 1/4x11 inches, 31x28 cm. Condition B+: expertly restored loss along right edge and in left corners. Paper. These attractive and dynamic stencils were designed in the style of Lebedev, after his Rosta Windows, for an unknown purpose. They appear to be cut from a large sheet (and in fact are stenciled onto the back of a printed Russian map). The known images in this "series" appear to depict specific personalities from Russian life in the 1920s and 1930s. And one known image exists showing two people together.
